One person treated for smoke inhalation after building fire in Altham

An investigation is under way after a fire at a commercial building in Altham.

Fire crews from Hyndburn, Burnley and Padiham were called to the blaze on Altham Business Park yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

On arrival, one casualty was believed to be suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation, but did not require hospital treatment.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters located the fire and used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. There was one casualty at the scene believed to have been suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.

"They were assessed at the scene by ambulance crews but did not attend hospital. The cause of the fire is now under joint investigation alongside colleagues from the police. Firefighters were in attendance approximately three hours."
