“The coronavirus has had and continues to have, a devastating effect on our fundraising and income, whilst the need for Marie Curie nurses has never been greater. We rely on donations to be able to provide vital support for dying people and their loved ones. Their support, now more than ever, is therefore invaluable.”

Tom Heron added: “Marie Curie is on the frontline caring for dying people and their families, both with and without coronavirus, and supporting the NHS by keeping as many people as possible out of NHS services.

"While the charity has seen an increase in demand on services, fundraising and income has suffered as a result of the cancellation of many fundraising activities. Marie Curie relies on donations, like this one, to continue to deliver care and support.”
