Neighbours brought together in Covid 19 lockdown hold their first scarecrow festival

The Covid 19 lockdown gave residents in a Burnley neighbourhood the chance to get to know each other.

During lockdown residents in the Rosegrove Lane area of Rosegrove have held a series of events to bring people together.

Along with the clap for the NHS every Thursday evening residents held a clap for young people at 3pm each Saturday.

Sunday night was 'dancing on the doorstep' night and celebrations were arranged to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day with a water gun fight put on for all the children.

And this weekend the families will hold their first scarecrow festival. Adults and children have worked together to create the scarecrows for the event which will take place tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Residents hope people will go along to have a look at all the scarecrows they have made.
