Lucy sets sights on teaching career

Former Ribblesdale High School pupil Lucy Stansfield is targeting a career in primary school teaching after starting her Early Years course at Blackburn College.

Lucy (16) studies the college’s Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE Early Years Educator) course. She plans to head to university once completing her studies at Blackburn College.

Lucy said: “I chose to study at Blackburn College because the Childcare and Education course has a very good reputation. I was also happy with the convenience of having the campus’ fantastic facilities right near my home.

“So far I have really enjoyed meeting new friends – the people on my course are brilliant. I have also enjoyed the variety of subjects that the course offers, especially the Pregnancy and Foetal Development module where I have been heavily involved in the practical elements.

“Blackburn College is already preparing me for the future by pointing out and explaining different career paths which are available off the back of studying the Level 3 Early Years Educator and Childcare course.

“I can already see that our tutors are determined to help us achieve our targets and their support is always available.”
