Students and their parents at St Mary Magdalene's RC Primary School donated enough items of food, clothing and baby items to fill two wheelie bins.

The collection was organised by Mrs Kelly Barnes, the school's pupil and family support worker, after a request came in from a parent who works for Calico ,which is in partnership with Burnley Together.

Burnley Together, which is a partnership of charities, services and volunteers, was launched in response to the pandemic to provide free help and support for vulnerable people with a range of needs such as obtaining food parcels, meals on wheels, collecting prescriptions, dog walking, preventing loneliness, housing advice and help with shopping.

It also has a dedicated helpline which operates seven days a week from 9am to 5pm.
