Iconic building set for new start as venue that will change the face of Burnley town centre nightlife

One of Burnley's most iconic buildings is set for a new lease of life that will put it on the map and revitalise town centre nightlife.

The old central Post Office in Hargreaves Street will re-open its doors as a wine bar and functions and music venue in August.

The new venture is due to open on August 1st and the people of Burnley have been invited to help come up with a new name for it. If you have a suggestion or an idea please email [email protected]

The grade two listed Edwardian building underwent a £770k. renovation in 2018 to transform it into Carnivoro, a Brazilian restaurant, which closed its doors last year.

Lockdown has hit the hospitality industry hard so the announcement today is good news for Burnley to help get the town back on its feet.

The new manager said: "We are aiming to cater for those people who would not normally consider Burnley for a night out.

"This will be a place to relax and have a drink with friends and family in absolutely stunning surroundings.

"We want to create a cosmopolitan atmosphere with the vibe of a city centre venue and it can be done here."
