"I do hope April 12th will be the opening date and I also hope this will be the last lockdown as I don't think the country, the economy and people's mental health can take much more.

"We need to get moving and help the economy to recoup some of the money lost."

Lisa, who has run her business since 2012, said that beauty salons and hairdressers are a 'fundamental part' of people's lives, offering so much more than just treatments.

She said: "We do serve a lot of purposes, its never 'just' a set of nails or any other treatment.

"It's almost like a counselling service which works wonders for the mind and also gives us all a good laugh and a giggle."

Lisa, who lives with her husband Jeff and has two daughters, admitted she had missed that aspect of her business dearly and could not wait to be back in the driving seat.

Lisa said that while she felt elated that she could finally re-open her salon she was aware of the dreadful toil the coronavirus pandemic had taken on thousands of lives.

She added: "I appreciate the void left in the lives of those who have lost loved ones to this dreadful virus and for them it's going to be an even tougher and longer battle.

"We have to remember those people as it's very easy not to think about their losses if you haven't been affected yourself with such tragedy.

"I think we all want normality now, to hug our loved ones and appreciate the simple things in life and never take anything for granted again."
