Horse trapped in barbed wire rescued by firefighters

Fire crews worked with the RSPCA to rescue a horse after its legs became stuck in barbed wire in Olive Bank, Langho.

The incident happened at 5pm yesterday (Saturday) and crews from Blackburn were at the scene for 45 minutes.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Fire engines from Blackburn and the large animal rescue team from Darwen, attended a horse rescue in Olive Bank, Langho. A horse had barbed wire trapped around its legs and firefighters assisted the RSPCA using their bolt cutters to release the animal."
