The Cat's Whisker's reunion was scheduled to be held on Friday, June 12th, but the organisers have decided to postpone it to a later date.

Held to celebrate the heyday of one of Burnley's most iconic nightclubs, the event has been organised by Chris Byrne and Steve Hindley who are both well known DJs in the area.

Announcing the decision to put the event on hold Chris said today: "Due to the uncertain situation that's going on in the world at the moment it is, with regret, that myself and Steve have decided to postpone the reunion to a later date to be announced."

2020 will be the fourth reunion for the iconic club and last year's event attracted over 200 revellers and raised £1,660 for Pendleside Hospice in memory of Mike Connolly, the former manager of the 'Cat's' and adjoining club Annabella's.

Mike, who died in 2018, was credited with saving it from closure and transforming the former Centenary Way nightspot and putting the town's nightlife 'on the map' in the 70s and 80s.

Paper tickets were not due to go on sale until the end of the week and money for tickets that were bought online has been refunded.
