The High Sheriff of Lancashire Catherine Penny has issued a final call for nominations for an award which highlights the good work of young people in the county.

Catherine says she wants to hear more about those under the age of 21, individuals or groups, who have been selfless in helping others.

She said: “It is always particularly encouraging when one hears of young people who are doing exceptional things for the good of others. I would like to hear about initiatives which have made a beneficial difference to the lives of others, locally, nationally or even internationally. This includes notable acts of bravery or kindness as well.”

She continued: “The LANPAC Young Citizen Award is my way of acknowledging and rewarding the very good deeds of Lancashire’s young people – those who have gone above and beyond to help others.”

The awards are being administered by LANPAC (Lancashire Partnership Against Crime) on behalf of the High Sheriff, who will chair the panel of judges.

All finalists will be invited to attend a presentation to be held, pandemic permitting, at Lancashire Constabulary Headquarters in March 2021. If that is not possible the awards will be presented virtually.
