Group of Year 9 pupils sent home after positive coronavirus test at Blessed Trinity
A number of pupils from a year group at Blessed Trinity RC College, Burnley, have been sent home after a confirmed positive case of coronavirus.
The number of pupils sent home has not been revealed, but they have been told to self-isolate until next week.
A message to parents on the school website by headteacher, Mr Richard Varey, highlighted the importance of hygiene and social distancing.
He said: "You may be aware that a Year 9 pupil has tested positive for COVID-19.
"A number of Year 9 children have been asked to self-isolate and will be returning to school on Monday, September 21st.
"The parents of the pupils affected have been contacted. You will be pleased to note that the child is no longer ill and will return to school shortly.
"It is a timely reminder of the need for our children to ensure increased hand hygiene, social distancing and the use of face masks."
