Golden couple's 'mock wedding' celebrated in Chatburn nursing home thanks to special cake
Engaged couple Lyndsey and Anthony kindly donated their delicious two-tier wedding cake to The Manor House Nursing Home in Chatburn as their special day had to be postponed.
To try and flip this originally sad situation into good, it provided the wonderful opportunity to stage a "mock wedding" for Jean and Fred who have been happily married for over 50 years.
A spokesman said: "The conservatory was trimmed beautifully for the occasion. Wedding guests were fellow residents and the staff team who dressed to impress in their wedding finery complete with fascinators and button holes. Their relatives were pleased to receive the lovely footage of the cutting of the cake surrounded by their friends having a wonderful time. Special thanks to Lyndsey and Anthony who gave so much enjoyment for the lucky residents and we wish them a lifetime of happiness."
