Forty gift bags were put together by colleagues at Padiham Green Primary School and they will be handed out next Wednesday evening on the old Thompson Centre car park at 6pm.

Volunteers from the Church on the Street Ministry will be distributing the bags along with food and meals for the homeless and those in need.

The treat bags were the idea of Jackie Cumming, Amanda Longton, Tanina Ciraolo, Joanne Ashton and Enid Simpson. With the help of fellow staff at at Padiham Green, facebook friends, and local businesses who donated cash for the project, the team managed to pack the bags full of great surprises.

Jackie said: "Hopefully this will put some smiles on faces."
