This is thanks to a donation of brand new toys by the League of Voluntary Workers.

The toys, worth £250, were handed over during a visit to the Rainbows Children’s Unit by the league's chairman Mrs Joan Carpenter, who said:“The League of Voluntary Workers has been proudly supporting the patients and staff at Burnley General Teaching Hospital for more than 60 years..

“We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated. The support we receive from individuals and businesses helps many patients and every penny we raise goes to support Burnley General Teaching Hospital.”

The League of Voluntary Workers raise funds with a table top sale on the third Thursday of each month from 10am to 3pm in the phase five reception area next to W H Smith's at Burnley General Teaching Hospital.

The league is always on the look out for new members to help continue with the good work it does.
