A "free bar" helped Burnley Leisure raise a heavy £587 for Pendleside Hospice.

The free event over three days in late December enabled residents to attend St Peter’s and Padiham leisure centres with all activities free with unlimited use for swimming, sauna, steam, spa, gym workouts and classes.

With over 1,200 visits across both sites the event was a huge success with the teams at each site asking customers to kindly donate to Pendleside Hospice at reception desks.

Burnley Leisure’s area manager Scott Bryce said: “We are immensely proud of our members and new customers who attended over the three days for donating to an excellent cause with our team at Burnley Leisure giving full access to all of our facilities.

"The free bar was a great opportunity for new customers to come down and try our award winning facilities prior to the January rush. A special mention must go to our reception teams over both sites who really kept up the momentum with promoting donations."
