Formidable headteacher from much loved children's novel makes surprise guest appearance at Burnley school
But there were a few frightened faces at first when the scary Miss Trunchbull made her appearance.
But luckily for the class three students the headmistress of the Crunchem Hall Primary School in the Roald Dahl novel, 'Matilda,' could not throw them around her head, as she does in the book, thanks to social distancing rules!

The visit was part of an activity week at the school and the duo surprised the children while they were having a lesson in the outdoor conservation area.
The children were able to question the characters and even build their own version of the 'chokey,' the tall cupboard filled with broken glass where Miss Truncbull sends naughty children, in the forest.
The duo then delivered their own drama training class. The students are now preparing to write about their very unusual morning.
