Kacey Reynolds (18) is off to the capital to study a BA Honours degree in costume performance at the college, which is the only one in Britain to specialise in fashion education, research and consultancy.

The former student at Shuttleworth College went on to study an extended level three diploma in textiles, fashion and design at Blackburn College.

Kacey, who achieved distinction, said: “I chose to travel to study at Blackburn College because out of all the colleges I looked at it was clearly the best for textiles courses. The course I did has solid recognition from universities and a positive reputation.
