Firefighters rescue stuck horse in Pendle

Fire crews battled for more than an hour to rescue a horse trapped in its stable in Colne.

Two fire engines from Colne and Nelson attended the incident on Saturday morning.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "The incident involved a horse that was trapped in its stable. Firefighters assisted a vet in maneuvering the animal using a shepherd's crook, strops and GP lines.

"Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and ten minutes."
