Fire crews called out to help rescue sheep stranded in water

Fire crews from Burnley and Darwen assisted in rescuing a sheep which had become stranded in some water near a property on Park Lane, Burnley on Monday.

Two swift water rescue technicians entered the water on an inflatable sled in an attempt to rescue the animal. A further two firefighters were deployed down stream as spotters with rescue lines. Firefighters were able to safely rescue the animal and were in attendance approximately 90 minutes.
