Elderly man rescued from near Dean Clough Reservoir

An elderly man who was injured at Dean Clough Reservoir, near Langho, was helped by mountain rescue volunteers.

Members of Rossendale and Pendle Rescue were contacted on Saturday evening at around 9-30pm by the North West Ambulance Service to assist with a casualty who had been found by the police at Dean Clough Reservoir.

Team members responded to scene and met with personnel from both NWAS and Lancashire Police

The team made their way down the muddy access track towards the casualty’s location. The elderly man was carried a short distance to the team vehicle before being transported back along the track to the road and awaiting ambulance.

A spokesman for Rossendale and Pendle Rescue said: "As always it was great to see such great teamwork between the emergency services - all coming together to assist someone in the community in their time of need. We, as always, wish the casualty all the best and hope they have a full and speedy recovery."
