Ribble Valley MP, Nigel Evans, is encouraging local residents to make full use of the "Eat Out to Help Out" scheme. He said: "“The data that banks and surveys have been releasing show that since lockdown eased, whilst most areas of spending in the economy have rebounded, spending in restaurants, cafés and pubs remains subdued.
"The hospitality industry is a big part of the local economy and a lot of jobs are dependent upon it. Venues have invested heavily in ensuring that they are COVID-19 secure, and I hope that this scheme encourages people to rediscover the many fantastic restaurants, cafés and pubs that we have throughout the Ribble Valley."
He added: "From a customer’s point of view, it simply couldn’t be easier. There’s no need for any vouchers to be printed. You simply find a participating venue and book a table as normal from Monday to Wednesday and the venue will automatically apply the discount to your bill."

Steven Bentley, from the eatery based in New Market Street, Clitheroe, said: “We’re delighted that the Government has recognised the struggles currently being faced by the retail and hospitality industry with the introduction of this new scheme.
“We hope that ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ will encourage more people to support local cafes such as ours and help customers to regain their confidence to enjoy eating out once more.
“We would like to reassure customers old and new that we’re strictly adhering to all the Government’s guidelines in our cafe which also benefits from a lovely outdoor seating area.”
