Pendleside ambassador Jordan went live on Facebook for an hour last Sunday firing out questions from his London home to an audience from around the world.

And the MOTDx presenter enjoyed the experience so much he plans on hosting another quiz for Pendleside next month.

He said: “It was really fun – and that was the idea. A lot of my family back home in the Burnley area took part as well as hundreds of others.

“To raise that amount of money in an hour was fantastic. I was expecting a few hundred pounds but for it to be more than £2,000 is unbelievable and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making it a great night.

“Some people who listen to my radio programmes and podcasts came online and took part and made donations and they haven’t even been to Burnley, which was really touching.”

One of Jordan’s family members Graeme Wilkinson held a virtual birthday party and sponsored head shave as well as taking part in the quiz. His head shave and his friend Kevin Hann’s eyebrow shave and their quiz donation raised a total of £650.

Jordan added: “I am hoping to do the quiz again perhaps next month. Pendleside needs every penny it can get at the moment so anything I can do to help I am happy to do.”

The quiz was part of the ‘Keep Your Hospice Open’ campaign. To make a donation visit: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/pendlesidecovid19appeal
