Costa Coffee to reopen seating area in its Clitheroe store from today

One of the country's biggest coffee chains is set to reopen in Clitheroe today - allowing customers to sit inside for the first time since lockdown was introduced in March.

Costa Coffee fans can expect perspex screens around counters and hand sanitiser stations in its cafe in Castle Street.

A spokesman said: “We’re delighted to confirm the reopening of Costa Coffee, Castle Street, Clitheroe, today (Thursday) - returning the nation’s favourite to customers by serving them a perfectly handcrafted cup of coffee.

"Our number one priority remains the safety of our customers and team members, so ahead of reopening we have ensured that the store has a number of enhanced hygiene and safety measures in place that align with current government guidelines, including high-quality Perspex screens at counters, two-metre floor signs, encouraging contactless payment and introducing sanitiser stations.

“We have applied a six-person group maximum for those wishing to eat-in and asking all customers where possible to wear a face covering when inside our stores in England, Scotland and Wales.

"In addition to these measures, all customers wishing to eat-in in a Costa Coffee store in England will need to provide their details for Test and Trace purposes.

“We look forward to safely welcoming customers back into the store again and being an active part of the local community.”
