The team spoke to people from that part of Burnley about what services and programmes they wanted to help people improve their skills, knowledge and employment opportunities.

Alongside the MPT team from Great Places Housing Group, Burnley FC In The Community also attended the event as did Lancashire Adult Learning representatives who provided wellbeing and mindfulness activities.

Shaznara Begum, a Great Places customer who has been supported through the Great Places MPT Programme to set up her own cake bakery business, put on a demonstration.

Community investement manager Keira Burns said: “Daneshouse is one of our priority neighbourhoods and we want to be able to provide customers with the opportunities they want and need.

“We got some valuable feedback from those who attended so we will be able to plan activities and provide opportunities to upskill local residents, help them find employment and training as well as offering support to overcome any other challenges they may face.

“It was a great session so the team would like to thank everyone who turned out.”
