In a statement released to the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times, Mr Horkin said: "What is now proving to be a very fast moving public health incident, I have decided in the interests of safeguarding the public and my staff members to temporarily close my three Clitheroe town centre businesses from today (Monday) until further notice. We hope to be up and running again as soon as the health situation improves."

He added: "I’m sure the local residents of the Ribble Valley and beyond will understand that our top priority must always be the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers. However, Ken Vareys will still continue to trade online at www.kenvarey.co.uk"
