Celebrations were right on track for Burnley centenarian Mabel to mark her 100th birthday

Mabel celebrated her 100th birthday at The Grove care home in Burnley where staff threw her a tea party and she received a visit from her daughter Alison.

And among Mabel's cards and gifts was a congratulations card from the Queen.

A keen bowler in her day, Mabel and her husband Bill played in several leagues and the many wins they achieved were recorded in the Burnley Express.

Originally from Halifax Mabel moved to Burnley in 1969.
