She said: “I am extremely honoured to be nominated for The Social Care COVID Hero Award as it has been a tough year. I’m grateful that we have a great team at Pendle Brook who have worked together to put the care of our residents first.

"And it also helps having amazing residents who have got involved in bake-offs, arts and crafts, and various interactive events during the past several months. It’s definitely been a morale booster for me and the team.”

Cheryl joined Rochcare in 2013 as an administrator at their Burnley care home. Her passion for care saw her gaining an NVQ3 in Health & Social Care which qualified her for the position of senior carer until she was promoted to deputy manager.
