Burnley's own Radio One DJ Jordan makes a dramatic entrance in hit TV reality show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here

Viewers chose Jordan and former Eastenders star Shane Ritchie to take part in the first challenge, Viper's Nest which will be shown on TV screens tonight.

The 30-year-old Radio One DJ made an impression on viewers within the first few minutes of the show when he promptly threw up after realising he would have to abseil down a cliff!

Jordan, who managed to complete the challenge with the help of Sir Mo Farah, then went on to confess that he was 'scared of everything!'

Jordan and his fellow celebrity campers last night settled into their new 'home' Gwrych Castle in Wales, the new location for the show which is usually filmed in Australia and presented by award winning duo Ant and Dec.

The show will be Jordan’s first stint in the world of reality TV and it looks like he is a hit with viewers already although his confession about all his phobias is sure to make him the top candidate for all the tasks.

Looking nervous after it was revealed viewers had chosen him for the first task actress Bev Callard told Jordan to 'embrace it.'

Viewers watched the celebrities, who include Jessica Plummer, AJ Pritchard, Vernon Kay, Hollie Arnold,, Giovanna Fletcher and Victoria Derbyshire, take part in their first challenge last night called Gates of Hell.

Locked into individual cells the group had to pass stars, which equate to meals for the camp, between them while being showered with a range of insects and maggots!

Although born in York, Jordan moved to Harle Syke in Burnley and was a student at St James' Lanehead Primary School. Shortly before enrolling at high school, he moved to Preston.

Before being poached for the prime time gig on Radio 1 in 2018, he worked at the in-house radio station at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, community station Preston FM and Rock FM.

Jordan then left Rock FM in 2016, moving to London to try to crack the London broadcasting scene.

A season ticket holder for the Clarets and ambassador for Pendleside Hospice, Jordan helped to raise £2,500 for Pendleside Hospice at the start of the pandemic when he held a live quiz on facebook firing out questions from his London home to an audience around the world.
