The team of around 20 staff and volunteers are also carrying out welfare checks to make sure people are staying safe, and working with Brunshaw Primary School to provide pack lunches to support any parents and families in need.

Jason Smith, managing director for Charter House, said: “Once we realised that our service users would potentially be at risk and isolating we knew we needed to support them, but we quickly realised that the need was a lot wider than just those accessing our services.

The community is coming together in ways I have never seen before.”

He said: “We all need to do our part and help where we can. If people need food and supplies because they can’t go out or can’t afford it at the minute, then it’s important to be there for them. Charter House and Burnley Together are helping so many people and I’m glad I’m able to support them in some way.”
