Darcey Hirst (12) completed the challenge in August in aid of Pendleside Hospice in memory of her grandad Eddie who died in January.

Although her granddfather didn't use the facilities at the hospice the charity is very close to the heart of Darcey and her parents, Derren and Melanie and her older sisters, Amelia who is 16 and 20-year-old Olivia.

Realising that charities are struggling due to so many events being cancelled due to coronavirus, Darcey decided to use her favourite hobby to help raise some cash. She managed to raise £100 just eight days in to the challenge and the donations just rolled in from there.

A regular at Junior Park Run, Darcey is also a member of Clayton Harriers' juniors and a student at St Christopher's High School in Accrington.
