Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre celebrates its first birthday

The Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre has celebrated the first anniversary of its opening with a communal ceremony, food, and drinks.

The Buddhist Centre, located on Parker Street, welcomed friends and neighbours to the event on Wednesday, October 18th to celebrate its first birthday, offering a huge selection of cakes and soft drinks, followed by a guided meditation.

With over 40 people joining in with the celebrations at the centre, which first opened its doors on September 29th lasy year following a major conversion of Brunside Mill, "everyone is welcome" at the establishment.

"The centre is a peaceful and inspiring place," said a spokesperson. "People from all walks of life can learn to meditate, gain practical understanding of Buddhism, and bring about positive change in their lives."
