"I wanted to do something for Pendleside Hospice and I am always dyeing my hair and messing with it so I thought I would shave it off.

"Nicola would be buzzing that I am doing this."

To date Allison has raised £195 towards her £500 target. Her son Evan (13), a pupil at Blessed Trinity RC College in Burnley, will do the honours for his mum on Sunday (May 31st) live on Facebook.

Alllison added: "I shaved his a couple of weeks ago so he said he would do mine. I will find out how good he is at it then.

"The closer it is getting to the date, the more nervous I am!"
