And Allison's brave act has raised £536 for Pendleside Hospice in memory of her friend Nicola Burbridge who died of cancer aged just 41 in February.

Best pals from the age of 12 Nicola, who worked at Brown's Opticians in Burnley, was Allison's bridesmaid and Allison was there with her friend when she gave birth to her first child.

Allison before she 'braved the shave' in memory of her pal Nicola Burbridge

Allison wanted to do something to help the hospice as it has faced tough times during the pandemic as so many fund raising events had to be cancelled and all the charity shops closed.

As she is always changing her hairstyle and also dyeing it Allison thought it would be a good idea to shave it all off.

Her son Evan (13), a pupil at Blessed Trinity RC College in Burnley, did the honours for his mum live on facebook.

Alllison added: "I shaved his a couple of weeks ago so he said he would do mine."
