27 gorgeous photos as couple 'marry' for the second time at The Higher Trapp Hotel in Simonstone

The couple hosted a wedding ceremony and reception at The Higher Trapp Hotel in Simonstone. And it was a picture perfect day which could not have been more different than their first wedding day on July 31st, 2009. For Trish had just given birth to their oldest son, Thomas, four days earlier. Diagnosed with the life threatening condition pre eclampsia, Thomas was delivered by emergency c-section at 32 weeks.

Determined not to miss her big day, Trish discharged herself from hospital for the wedding ceremony at Burnley Register Officer before the couple held a reception at Nelson House in Manchester Road. But Trish had to leave early as she felt so poorly. Since that day 15 years ago, the couple always felt ‘cheated’ out of a big day so they arranged a second ‘wedding’ day.
