Pendleside Hospice Light Up A Life this weekend

BURNLEY people who wish to pay tribute to friends and family members who have died will get the chance to do so at two services at Pendleside Hospice this weekend.

The services will take place at 3-30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday outside the Reedley hospice and will feature seasonal carols, tea, coffee and mince pies as well as performances from teenage singer Grace O’Malley and a piper.

People who take part will pay to dedicate a coloured light to their loved ones. Thousands of lights will adorn the building and Christmas tree in the hospice reception until the New Year.

After Christmas the names of everyone remembered will be entered into a leather-bound Book of Remembrance, which will be kept on display in the hospice reception throughout 2012.

For the first time, people can remember a loved one online by visiting the hospice website www.pendleside.org.uk. Leaflets are available from hospice shops and hospice reception, or you can telephone with a credit or debit card by calling the fund-raising office on 01282 440120.

A minimum donation of £5 is requested for each person remembered, and in return, donors receive a Light Up A Life card and lapel badge, or Christmas tree decoration.
