Pendle Blues Festival nominated for national award

Pendle Leisure Trust won the accolade as Best British Blues Festival in 2011 and was runner-up last year.

But it would be even more special to collect the title this year as the festival is playing host to the event. The awards ceremony will take place on the British Stage on Sunday, August 25th.

And now the organisers need your votes!

Festival organiser Alison Goode said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been nominated again.

“The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival is now in its 24th year and it is nice to be recognised. We hope all those people who enjoy the festival year after year will again take the time to vote for us – and especially this year because we are hosting the awards.”

The British Blues Awards team asked a number of people from the Blues scene, including broadcasters, journalists and music promoters, to nominate three representatives for each of the 16 categories. The scores were added up to make six nominees for each category.

There are a total of 16 categories, including British Male and Female Vocalist, British Blues Band, British Instrumentalist and British Young Artist.

Colne’s festival is up against five other festivals in the Best British Blues Festival category – Blues On The Farm, Carlisle Blues and Rock Festival, Maryport Blues Festival, Newark Blues Festival and Hebden Bridge Blues Festival.
