The Ballroom Blitz dance night was organised ahead of Padiham on Parade this weekend.

The night was a sell out and 120 people packed into Padiham Town Hall to dance the night away to the Swing City Big Band who played a selection of nostalgic tunes.

Everyone dressed in 1940s attire for the night and the ballroom was decked out with bunting and Union Jack flags.

And judging by these superb images captured by Howard Hudson on the night everyone had a ball.

The evening raised £400 towards the event this weekend and also the RAF Benevolent Fund to mark the 100th anniversary of the organisation.

Padiham on Parade organiser and volunteer Ida Carmichael said: "It was a fantastic night, everyone had a superb time, it was so well supported and it was fantastic to see so many people there."

And in keeping with the war theme tickets for the event were sold at £19.40 each.
