Members of staff at Coral bookmakers in Padiham have braved the shave for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, a charity that grants wishes for terminally ill children.
The branch manager, Anthony Moretta, took the plunge and agreed to have his head shaved along with assistants Luke Holden and Danny Graham, who also agreed to have his legs waxed for good measure.
Keen to get in on the charitable act, assistant Anne-Marie Kimber also did her bit by agreeing to have eight inches chopped off her hair to help with the fundraising.
Having raised £1,500 for Starlight Children’s Foundation through their efforts, the staff members are also also running a charity auction in an attempt to raise every little they can for the charity, which was co-founded in 1986 by British actress Emma Samms - whose younger brother Jamie died of aplastic anaemia when she was nine - and her cousin Peter Samuelson.
Featuring a range of prizes, the charity auction’s grand prize is a Burnley shirt.
