Responsibility lies across the board for crisis in our A and E

Our National Health Service continues to come in for a bit of a bashing due to missed targets and massive compensation payouts.

The latest accident and emergency figures for December do not make happy reading.

But it is impossible to point the finger of blame at those doctors and nurses who staff these overworked departments.

There is no easy answer to the situation.

Even throwing extra cash at the situation would not solve the ever-growing problem.

As well as putting the onus on overworked frontline staff to deliver the goods a certain responsibility still rests on those people who choose to make accident and emergency their first port of call when feeling unwell. The service is at breaking point but the blame is widespread.
