Who should be fenced in - kids or dogs?

So, Ribble Valley Council are to ban dogs from the children’s play area, skate park and sports pitch.

Does the council think children are “beamed down” into these areas Star Trek-style?

Dogs should be on leads throughout the castle grounds. All the green space should be safe for children to run about.

As for tighter controls on dog fouling, we will watch with interest to see the results.

Too often dogs are given more freedom than children. Dogs in public places should be on leads. No dog off a lead can be said to be “under control.”

I would suggest the council think again. Which should be fenced in – our children or dogs?
