What is council doing to discourage development?

What are our councillors thinking of? Do they want Clitheroe to be an attractive town to live in and visit?

I was so sorry to read in the Clitheroe Advertiser that the land at Upbrooks, which was recently a golf driving range, and could have been a valuable asset to our town, has been sold off for industrial units.

The other evening, while enjoying a stroll along the riverside at Edisford, I was amazed to see how close the new Henthorn housing estate is to the camping and caravan club site boundaries. Families who have booked their holidays here, expecting to find a peaceful and rural setting, will be very disappointed when they find they are camped on the side of a building site and overlooked by housing!

Our Ribble Valley Councillors don’t care about Clitheroe over-development as long as they protect their own back yards. Why should we elect these people who are allowing our town to lose important assets. What has the council done to discourage these developments?
