What are your views on climate change?

May I use your columns to ask a question of Nigel Evans, who will again be seeking election in May?

Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has called for immediate action to stave off security risks from climate change. The US Pentagon declares climate change is an “immediate risk” to national security. The Pentagon says climate change represents a “threat multiplier” that has the potential to exacerbate many of the security challenges currently facing the world, including infectious diseases, ongoing conflicts, resource shortages and terrorism.

Lloyd’s of London, the world’s oldest and biggest insurance market, has called on insurers to incorporate climate change into their models. A spokesman for Lloyd’s said increased threats ranged from property damage to political risk – such as the implications for food security – and the economic impacts.

Nigel Evans’ entry in Wikipedia states “On the issue of climate change, Evans has expressed his belief in the solar variation theory and the causes of warming on the earth and on other planets being sunspots, and praised the TV documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle as ‘one of the best and most controversial programmes I’ve ever seen on television, particularly for those who don’t like being spoon-fed by Al Gore’.”

Is this still his view? And if not, will he take steps to have his Wikipedia entry corrected?
