Already I have collated 12 names for addition to Nelson’s War Memorial from the First World War, through the Second World War, National Service and Afghanistan.

The names are:

First World War: Addison C., Blackburn W. ?, Farrow H., Hudson A.C., Kirkbright H., and Robinson W.H.

Second World War: Barton W.H., Brown S., and Roberts G.B.

National Service: Greenwood C.S. and Smith H.

Afghanistan: Foley M.

Action is already being taken to have them added to the memorial in time for the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.

If anyone has any other names, please let me know as soon as possible.

Finally, I hope Coun. Butterworth is not wasting people’s time in Nelson by duplicating efforts already well in hand, as I explained to him during the Poppy Appeal at Morrison’s in Nelson.
