Those who miss NHS appointments should go to back of queue

I feel that I must put pen to paper to let people know about missed appointments on the NHS.

On attending my own appointment at a health centre, I started to read details on the noticeboard.

In one month, 50 people did not attend for appointment. In another month, 49 did not attend.

These two months alone add up to a lot of hours for nurses and consultants in attendance.

Surely it does not take up much time to pick up the phone and cancel if you can’t make an appointment?

What happens?

Do these people go to the back of the queue?

Some sort of penalty should be in force.
