Recruitment or redundancy in the Army?
Within the past week or so a web link to a story on the Clitheroe Advertiser website about the Army recruiting in Clitheroe has been sent to me on two occasions and I can’t really comprehend the “sense” or logic of it all!
The MoD is to shortly make redundant nearly 5,000 fully trained, experienced and equipped serving soldiers, all at great cost, not to mention any severance and redundancy monies due, and is now looking for some 10,000 new (“raw”) recruits! Perhaps I’m unknowingly now living in “GaGa Land”
NB: I was evacuated to Clitheroe in 1944-45 and have endeavoured to return there each year since 2002.
