Postal vote flaws for Labour Party

For the last two weeks your paper has published letters from people claiming to be Labour members/activists, each saying the recent selection of a Parliamentary candidate for the Labour Party was flawed through the use of dodgy postal votes.

In recent years postal voting has been, to say the least, suspect. If the members of their own party seem to think the local party is corrupt, how can we trust them to play fair at the General Election?

I asked an ex-Labour councillor if he thought the letters were genuine. His response was “it’s been going on for years” and was surprised it had taken so long for local, long-standing members to speak out.

I am sure all parties will have to look at the way postal votes are issued, but I feel for Mr Barnes, as he will have to sort it all out at the election.
