This possibly took place on Remembrance Sunday and the tin was stolen from Christ Church in Carr Road, Nelson.

The matter has been reported to the police.

Very few of our tins are stolen, but it’s sad and disgraceful when it happens.

Those outlets who were kind enough to have the tins often feel very upset and violated when this happens, as they were trying to help and somebody with a mindset, so disgustingly low as to steal from poppy boxes or other charities, should not be allowed to win.

Our boxes and tins will be back next year.

So far the Poppy Appeal has been a success and we would like to thank everyone who has helped in any way to raise the money that has come in so far, from our supermarkets Asda and Morrisons, Pendle Rise, our new stall at Pendle Village Mill, B&Q and all the shops around who were kind enough to help us. We will give the final total in a couple of weeks.
