Please help hospital Friends’ group to help you

The Friends of Clitheroe Community Hospital exists solely to support patients in our hospital, to relieve the stress of hospitalisation and make more homely the surroundings necessary for healthcare.

As Chairman of “the Friends”, I cannot let the official opening of the new Clitheroe Community Hospital on June 9th pass without acknowledging the incredible support we have received over the past decades by way of donations and bequests from the very many people of Clitheroe and the wider Ribble Valley, a large number of whom have themselves, or through their relatives or friends, experienced the kindness, care and comfort provided by the doctors, nurses and staff at the hospital.

We now have a brand new hospital, as up-to-date as anything in the country, but still our work goes on. As we are all aware, NHS finances are by no means limitless. We are delighted to have been closely involved in the planning process and, consequently, have been able to contribute the full cost of providing a full-body X-ray system together with ultrasound and other equipment which would not otherwise have been included and all, of course, as a result of those donations.

The on-going development of the new premises will also, no doubt, generate further needs, and we shall be closely involved in this wherever we can for the foreseeable future. However, without your continued support we could do little so may I ask you to bear the above in mind should you be in a position to support our funds. My contact details are:
