Pendle Jazzmen are a hit in Sweden

I am Swedish and live in Sweden with my English wife, Christine, who was born in Burnley where my father-in-law still lives.

When we visited him at the beginning of February this year he took us to the Inn on the Wharf to have a drink and, once again, to see The Pendle Jazzmen play. We always try to see this band when we visit Burnley.

It consists of six really good jazz musicians playing superb old good jazz music. Just as before we had a really joyful evening together with the rest of the audience and this time we took photos to share with our friends back in Sweden.

The instruments and band members were band leader Colin (drums), Frank (bass), Mike (guitar/banjo), Colin (slide trombone), Stuart (trumpet and teller of bad jokes) and John (clarinet/saxophone) and the songs were old good jazz numbers. A local busker, a saxophone player, joined in for a couple of songs.

We are so impressed and happy that Burnley has a jazz band this good. We do not see many of them in Sweden.

We will once again go back to listen to them at the Inn on the Wharf next time we are in Burnley. I think they play at the pub nearly every Thursday.
