Not fair on the private hire taxis
We find on shopping at Burnley Marks and Spencer store that private taxis can only pick up and drop off along Bethesda Street while Hackney cabs can pick up and drop off at the front entrance, where there is a dropped kerb, and then proceed up Hammerton Street.
Elderly and infirm people and indeed anyone with shopping and children who use private hire cabs, especially during winter and inclement weather, are at a considerable disadvantage.
Why can’t the same facilities be given to private hire taxi firms as are available to Hackney cabs?
